Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP)

On June 22, 2011, the Board of Directors adopted the 2010 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) and approved its submittal to the Department of Water Resources. California Water Code §10610 requires urban water suppliers to report every five years on:

  • Water deliveries and uses
  • Water supply sources
  • Efficient water uses
  • Demand management measures for water conservation

Water suppliers use the UWMP to strategize long term goals and ensure responsible, adequate water use planning. This report has been prepared with the cooperation and assistance of the City of Elk Grove, the County of Sacramento and other regional stakeholders. The deadline for the 2010 was delayed until July 2011 in order to incorporate the new Water Conservation Bill of 2009. On March 4, 2013, the Department of Water Resources notified the Elk Grove Water District of its acceptance of the report.
