What is the Citizens Water Academy?
The Citizens Water Academy is a free program offered every year to educate the District’s customers on water, the organization, and the Board of Directors. Topics that are covered include:
- Critical issues on water
- Building a more resilient water supply, adapting to a changing environment, and investing in vital infrastructure
- District operations and finances
- What it's like to serve as a Florin Resource Conservation District Board Director
The program is open to any current Elk Grove Water District customers. Elk Grove Water District provides service to areas of Elk Grove with a zip code of 95624. (Go to https://bewatersmart.info/find-your-water-provider/ to see if you qualify).
Anyone interested in running for a seat on the FRCD Board of Directors is especially encouraged to attend. Participants must be at least 18 years of age.
The 2025 Citizens Water Academy will take place on January 8, February 5, and March 5 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and April 5 from 9:00 – 11:00 am. Deadline to apply has been extended to Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
