Account Set Up Fee
When EGWD establishes an account for a new owner or tenant for a property, a $30 “Account Set Up Fee" will be assessed.

Delinquency Shut Off
Water service may be discontinued and a late payment penalty will be assessed to the customer's account if payment of a delinquent bill is not received by the due date listed on the Notice of Pending Service Interruption (door tag). To avoid service discontinuance, or to have discontinued service restored, the customer must pay in full the following charges:

1. The amount of the unpaid bill,
2. $25 Door Tag Fee, and
3. A Late Payment Penalty of $100.

During the door tag period, discontinuance of service may be avoided by payment of the unpaid bill and the $25.00 Door Tag Fee. All of the foregoing fees must be paid in cash, cashier's check, money order or credit card only.

Returned Check Fee
All accounts are subject to a $35.00 fee (plus amount of check) for any check returned to the District.

Meter Re-read
A meter may be re-read upon customer request. The first re-read will be performed at no charge. Each subsequent re-read will be subject to a $25.00 charge.

Photocopies
Black and white copies, $0.10/pg, Color copies, $0.15/pg

24 Hour Turn-on Fee - $100.00

Meter testing - $47/hr

Back Flow Tag Fee - $25.00

Back Flow Testing Fee - $65.00

Fire Flow Testing - $156.00

Water Theft Fine -

Via Meter Tampering:
1st occurrence - $130 + Admin.
2nd occurrence in a year - $700 + Admin.
3rd occurrence in a year - $1300 + Admin.

Other Water Theft:
1st occurrence - $1000 + Admin.
2nd occurrence in a year - $2000 + Admin.
3rd occurrence in a year - $3000 + Admin.

Metered Service

Applicability
Applicable to all metered water service.

Territory
Throughout all Water Service areas, the City of Elk Grove and vicinity, Sacramento County.

Fixed Charge: Based on the number of accounts and the size of the water meters/connections.
